A crazy system by RT

When RT tell you the magazine has been dispatched it hasn't. It can take another 8 weeks. If you buy a subscription for a friend they don't tell you it has to be activated. My 90 year old mother strangely does not have access to e-mail to do this. They are slow to respond to complaints.

Radio Times SubscriptionReview date: 2010-02-28 Rating: 4 out of 10I was tempted to get this as a gift for my elderly mother (who buys the Radio Times every week) by the price of the subscription, which was several per cent lower than on the Radio Times own subscription page, but actually it has been a thoroughly disappointing gift. We couldn't activate it on-line, despite assurances written on the pack that it was a simple matter of entering the activation code. I had to contact the Radio Times for assistance, who sent out a manual activation form which we have returned by post, but we are still awaiting the first issue several weeks after the money has been taken from my account, and my mother has still had to buy her Radio Times from the newsagent at full price.tv - sorted!Review date: 2009-12-18 Rating: 10 out of 10An excellent offer and one less thing to worry about. Now we read the news on line we don't have the 'freebie' fall out tv guide so decided to be grown up about this and have the Radio Times delivered with the post. Living in a rural area this is an extra satisfaction as we don't go out that often. The service has been absolutely perfect, no problems at all and it is a pleasure to have the magazine to hand. Every single tv channel and Radio station of course is fairly covered; the articles are always interesting and topical. Being able to plan our viewing is sensible, a real time saver. Packaged lightly in a thin plastic bag it arrives in good order. I shall definitely continue to use this useful service. I know all this sounds fuddy duddy and reminds me of my parents, but they do have things to teach us still.
